Responsibilities for Loan Officer
- Sell loan products and meet loan production targets
- Perform business development tasks, including managing the pipeline by generating leads and referral business, and maintaining relationships with existing and past clients
- Meet and communicate with applicants to explain the risks and benefits, as well as the terms of loan products and government regulations
- Obtain relevant information and evaluate applicants' financial status, including credit history, debt-to-income ratio, and appraisal reports, to determine recommendation for loan approval
- Ensure all necessary information and documentation is submitted to the loan underwriting department, and is recorded properly in electronic file format
- Represent the employer at community events and host seminars
- Maintain current knowledge of all applicable lending regulations, the economy, market rates, vendors, and competitors
- Consistently deliver first-class customer
Required:
- Must have NMLS
- Two or more years of originating real estate loans; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous experience in the mortgage/real estate industries
- Possesses sufficient job skills and knowledge to perform the job in a competent manner. Is able to demonstrate skills and knowledge in day-to-day situations.
- Ability to work independently and develop partnering relationships within the community.
- Possess superior interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to prioritize.
- Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and use initiative while effectively adapting to change.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly explain products, listen to customers, and effectively overcome customer objections.
- Excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Knowledge of mortgage industry; familiarity with mortgage rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Ability to handle oneself in stressful situations.
- Proficient use of standard office equipment. Must be capable of multi-tasking.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- Contacts and referrals in the real estate and mortgage industries required
- Prior sales experience

Annual Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $150,000.00 (base + commission available)
